About Me

Welcome to Bloom & Grow Counseling!

My name is Alli Swift and I started Bloom & Grow with the vision of creating a safe and nurturing place for clients to come and get to know themselves better. I believe that engaging in therapy allows us to connect to all the parts of our self and develop increased self-awareness and self-compassion through navigating all the edges of our world and experiences.

I have a Masters degree in Professional Mental Health Counseling from Lewis & Clark in Portland, OR, and have spent most of my clinical hours working with adolescents around issues of anxiety, self image, relational difficulties and life transitions. I also have a strong passion for working with couples, especially during their premarital journey.

My approach to counseling rests on my belief that the therapeutic relationship is central to client growth and change. Creating a space of safety, trust and unconditional positive regard for the client guides all my interactions and interventions. I believe that relationships are central to a client's life and well-being, and that identifying where we can build up and promote healthy relationships and interactions within our world leads to an increase in mental health. With a clear client/therapist collaboration we will create goals and identify areas of development together to provide the client with a vision for promoting their mental health and life satisfaction.

I am currently a registered intern with the Oregon Board of Licensed Counselors & Therapists. As an intern, I am supervised by Catherine Nyhan, a licensed professional counselor here in Portland. Please let me know if you have further questions about this, or would like contact information for my supervisor or the board!
